2025: Discipline Over Motivation
Many of my clients are entrepreneurs, and I understand their mindset because I’ve built a successful business myself.
As we head into 2025, gyms are filling up with people chasing their New Year’s resolutions. Maybe you’re one of them, motivated to finally make this the year you get fit.
I coach people to get fit. And one of my favorite people to work with are entrepreneurs and high achievers.
But I don’t want to work with everybody. Those who are willing to be more disciplined than motivated are usually a fit.
Every January, gyms are packed. People “get motivated.” They set ambitious goals, inspired by the fresh start of a new year.
But by February, those same gyms are noticeably emptier.
Why?
Because motivation fades. People get busy, life gets in the way, and they stop showing up.
But here’s the thing: success in fitness isn’t about motivation. It’s about discipline.
Elon Musk said, “If you’re an entrepreneur and need encouragement, don’t be an entrepreneur.” The same is true for fitness. If you’re waiting to feel motivated every day, you’ll never see results.
I tell those I work with, “We lift regularly because we develop discipline. We don’t wait for motivation.”
The Fitness and Business Parallel
One of the greatest advantages of running a business is that you can hire people to handle tasks they excel at.
You can delegate, build systems, and free yourself up to focus on the big picture. It’s like hiring a great coach; someone who’s been there before and has worked with countless others to simplify the process for you.
But here’s the difference. You can’t hire someone to go to the gym for you. You can’t delegate the workouts, the discipline, or the effort. In fitness, you’re the CEO, and going to the gym is part of your job.
At first, some of my clients see it as a chore. But once they commit and start feeling the results, they get more energy, better focus, and greater confidence. It stops being a chore. It becomes something they look forward to because they realize how much better they feel.
One of my clients told me:
“At first, it felt like one more thing on my to-do list. But after a few weeks, I noticed the difference. Not just in my body, but in my energy, my focus, and how I showed up for my family and business. It stopped being a chore and became something I genuinely enjoy.”
This is the shift that happens when you commit to the process. You unlock a better version of yourself. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
Why Most New Year’s Resolutions Fail
The problem with most New Year’s resolutions is that they’re built on the wrong foundation. People set goals fueled by excitement and the desire for quick results, but when the excitement wears off, they quit.
Just like in business, success in fitness requires consistency and effort, even when it’s not exciting.
I’ve seen too many people join fitness programs thinking that paying for it is enough. They believe that because they’ve invested money, they’ll automatically succeed.
But paying for the program is just the first step. The real transformation happens when YOU do the work. Both in the gym and at the kitchen table.
Discipline Leads to Legacy
This isn’t just about losing weight or looking good. This is about creating a life where you can show up as your best self for your family, your business, and your future.
When you’re healthy and strong, everything else falls into place.
Your mindset improves. Your energy skyrockets. Your family sees the example you set.
As a business owner, father, and leader, you know the importance of setting an example. When you build discipline in fitness, you’re investing in more than your health. You’re investing in your legacy.
Why I’m Selective About My Clients
Since I’ve built a successful business that pays me every month, I don’t have to work with everyone, and I don’t.
I choose clients who are ready to put in the work, who understand that success in fitness, like in business, requires discipline.
If you’re someone who’s ready to commit, embrace the process, and show up every day, we’ll probably work well together.
But if you’re looking for shortcuts or think results will come without effort, this isn’t the program for you.
The New Year’s Challenge: Don’t Quit in February
This year, commit to being the person who doesn’t quit in February. The one who shows up in June, September, and December with the results to prove it.
Most people rely on fleeting motivation. You’re different. You know success requires discipline, and you’re ready to build it.
The Takeaway: Discipline Creates Results
Whether in business or fitness, the principle is the same. You can delegate the planning, but you can’t delegate the work.
If you’re ready to commit, take ownership, and put in the effort, I’m here to guide you.
This program is for high-achievers who want more than just a fitness transformation.
People in this program are the type to want to show up stronger in their business, their family, and their life. If that’s you, let’s get to work.
Together, we’ll turn discipline into results, and those results will speak for themselves.
